HMS Hermione (The ship is named after Hermione - the daughter of the Spartan king Menelaus and Helen) light antiaircraft cruiser type “Dido” Launched in 1939 and returned to the docks a few months later with a cat named “Convoy”. The convoy is not just a cat, and a full member of the team entered in the ship’s book. Nickname “Convoy” was because the ship many times accompanied the convoy patrols. Unfortunately, the ship was sunk by a German submarine U-205 in June 1944, the cat is also considered a member of the crew perished.

For years, he was forced to hide in the cellar and wait for the death of Stalin. His daughter was ten years old, but she did not even know that his father is alive. He had only one gift ..
All of these items and furnishing of life for dollhouse were made Lina Leonard (Leonard Lina) in the late 40’s and early 50-ies of the last century. All this time, Leonard was hiding from persecution by the Soviet military tribunal in the potato cellar on the farm from his father.
He made all these tiny items from memory, trying to reproduce the atmosphere of his family home in Rakvere.
Leonard (1914-1984) was an officer of the Republic of Estonia. In 1944, to escape the conclusion he was hiding in his parents’ house. He spent all his time lying on his back in the potato box, an area just over two meters.
Opportunity to stretch your legs appear only at night.
First he knit and read books to somehow kill time. And then, missing home, he began to carve furniture dollhouse.
His tools were only a knife, a small drill, a few pieces of glass and a piece of sandpaper.
Leonard cut out all the items that are typical and necessary for the Estonian life. From plates to small toothbrush bristles for which he made from his own hair.
Leonard gave the whole situation dollhouse Merike his daughter, whom he first met in 1954, leaving his refuge. Merike was already 10 years old.
Later, several generations of his family have played with this little furniture with an amazing history.
Now dollhouse deposited in the collection of the Museum of Toys Tartu.
